Everything is made to order by real craftsmen here in the United States. Each timeless piece arrives ready to hang that very afternoon.
This is a simulation, not a photograph of the prints. Acrylic is shown exactly as this site shows every photograph, with nothing done to it — that is the line where the picture is allowed to be what it is. Canvas and metal step down from there, each one less saturated and flatter than the last, which is the direction they really go in a room. The size of the step is exaggerated on purpose so you can see which way each finish moves; the difference in a room is real but gentler than this, and no screen can show you an anti-reflective surface. If the choice comes down to two, write to me and I will tell you which one I would hang.
The acrylic line is the highest possible quality print achievable. It is a Lumachrome HD print, face-mounted under Tru Life anti-reflective acrylic. The studio that I use specifically for this process invented this form of printing. The difference is astounding, and you can see it from across a room. Each photograph I take desires to be shown in this medium.
Giclée on archival canvas, stretched by hand over 1.5″ bars. Matte, warm, and glareless from every angle in the room. It does not announce itself; it settles in, the way a good guest does.
Best in bright roomsFace-mounted beneath 100% Tru Life anti-reflective acrylic on 1.3″ Italian ROMA float frames. The deepest blacks money can currently buy, and so little reflection that people walk up and touch it to work out where the surface is.
The flagshipKeep it out of direct sun. That is the whole of it — the one thing that shortens all three, and the only rule worth carrying in your head. Acrylic and metal want a dry microfibre cloth and never a solvent. Canvas wants dusting, occasionally, and nothing else for the rest of its life.
A piece you keep coming back to. A size you cannot settle. A commission. A room that has defeated you twice already. These reach me, and I am the one who answers them.
I am frequently somewhere with no signal at all. If a reply takes a few days, that is nearly always the reason — not that your letter went unread.
No returns — and it is fairer to say so here than at the end. Nothing is held in stock. Your piece is made for you, at your size, in your finish, and signed into the edition the day it is printed. That is what makes it worth owning. Put it on your wall first, or ask me — I would far rather talk you into the right size than sell you the wrong one.
