Canyon Song

I almost never leave with a plan. There is a direction, a full tank, and a standing agreement with myself to be turned aside by anything that deserves it. Nothing about this canyon was on the way to anywhere. I found it the way you find everything worth finding out here. By having nowhere in particular to be, and by being willing to stop when the light began to do something. That is the whole argument for traveling without a map, and this is the photograph I make it with.
