Ablaze
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
A beam comes down through the crack in the roof near the middle of the day, finds the dust turning in the still air, and stands there, not light on a wall but a thing with edges, a window made out of nothing. Rays held in time. That line came to me while I was sitting on the sand underneath it with my back against the cold stone, waiting, and I have never found a better one for what the canyon does.
