Perfect reflections are surely out of the ordinary in a country as rough as that one. Deep into Alaska, where every new view spends the whole day trying to outdo the last, this small range came at the end of a long and punishing drive like an apology. Crisp still water holding the sky and the snow exactly as they were given. Turn it either way up and the scene is the same. I accepted the apology immediately and stopped the truck for an hour.
