A tidewater glacier at the head of a fjord, loose ice on the water, one break of blue in a sky that had otherwise given up on the idea. Nearly all the color has been let go. What remains is scale, and the noise the thing makes when a piece finally comes off it, a crack and then a long rolling report off the walls, which no photograph has ever carried and none ever will.
