Ruby Andromeda

Sitting for hours in one place changes everything about it. Delicate Arch in daylight is already beautiful; put a new moon over it and you have the recipe for something else entirely. I had no tripod and no shutter remote, so I propped the camera on my wallet in the dirt and began. A red and white headlamp put that soft brilliant pink onto the stone. Gold on the mountain, light pollution from the town below, and above all of it the whole deep field. A gentle reminder of how small we really are.
