Three Trees
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
Limestone towers coming straight up out of green water, and a handful of drowned snags still standing where the shoreline used to be before the water came. The lake is younger than the trees it covered. I worked that over the whole time I was there and never got to the bottom of it. That the water is the new thing here, and the dead wood standing in it is the old.
