Battle Wounds
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
Something rough happened to this one a long while before he met me. The right eye had gone to a haunting blue blur, sightless, and it had cost him precisely nothing in presence, if anything it had added to it. Curious and defensive at once, he kept his good side to me and knew exactly where I was standing the whole time. There is a kind of strength that only shows up after something has been taken away.
