Curiosity
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
I named this one Leonard. He came out of the brush while I was sitting still and he kept coming, unhurried, until he was near enough that either of us could have ended the arrangement. He had a calmness about him I have not met in a wild animal before or since. No fear in it, and no threat in it either. He only wanted to know what I was. We sat and considered one another for a long time. I have been asked harder questions by people.
