To hold light is to hold time itself for a moment. Bacterial growth spreads every color of the spectrum across this pool in rings, so that a body of hot water becomes, with no assistance from anybody, a working rainbow. The rain was rolling in as I made it and the whole valley floor turned reflective ahead of the storm. Trees line the front of this sacred piece of ground. Look closely and you will find them twice over in the mid-afternoon light.
