Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach with the fog in and the sun only just clearing its shoulder. The fog is the entire difference here between a postcard and a photograph. It takes away nine tenths of everything you could see, which sounds like a loss, and hands back the whole of what you can feel, which is not. I have been to that beach on clear days. I have never once made anything there on a clear day.
