Lazarus Pit

In the heart of Yellowstone lies one of America's true natural wonders. A body of hot water that carries every color of the rainbow across its surface. Rain was coming down into the rising steam the morning I made this, and the two of them met somewhere above the pool and carried its colors up into the air with them. The flow of it moves like lava and is almost too beautiful to credit. In the old fables the Lazarus Pit was water that could rejuvenate and give back life. Standing over this one, I understood where the fable came from.
