Prairie of the North
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
Late January light on the southeast coast of Iceland, raking across a wide plain of winter grass. The ridges ahead glow copper while a snow-covered summit holds the pale sky behind them, and a few farm roofs sit tiny at the foot of it all. I kept the frame long to give the open ground its due. The north has its own kind of prairie, and it is quiet.
