Someone down there is making coffee. Someone is walking to the boats. The bay does what it has done for ten thousand mornings, turns that impossible green, the green of bottle glass held up to a lamp, while the sky above it goes pink, then gray, then pink again, like something breathing in the dark. That is the real subject here: not wilderness at all, but the ordinary business of living somewhere astonishing, and mostly not looking up.
