A vibrant thunderstorm brought heavy rain across Glacier National Park, and I sat out in the middle of it entirely alone. Then a deer came and stood a little way off, unconcerned by the noise, unconcerned by me, and stayed for the whole duration of it. The scene was roaring with cold wind and deep thunder and the sky was putting on colors to match. Neither of us mentioned any of it. We simply waited it out together and went our separate ways afterwards.
