No foreground to hide behind, and no horizon worth the name. Only the line where shallow turquoise gives way to the open ocean, and the shelf underneath it dropping clean out of the argument. There is almost nothing in this frame. It took me a long while to trust that almost nothing was the subject, and longer still to stop trying to put something else in beside it.
