A summit appearing for a few seconds inside a whiteout, and then not appearing again. Everything else in this frame is weather. It is a photograph of a mountain in which the mountain barely consents to turn up at all, and that, rather than the postcard version, is an honest account of what most days are like at that altitude. I waited another two hours. It never came back.
