Icarus Falling
A fine art photograph by Justin Cooper
The old story warns about flying too near the sun. That evening it happened the other way about. The sun came down onto the peaks, settled on them, and burned there for a few minutes before it let go and slid away. The snow took the fire and held it. Nothing fell and nobody was punished, and the whole thing was over before I had finished deciding what I was looking at. I have no better explanation for what the light did.
