Valley of Snow

Deep powder, and monoliths that touch heaven. The floor of Yosemite is full of treasure and Half Dome is the piece everybody comes for. A rock that has caught the fancy of poets and painters and every artist who has stood beneath it. Snow had come down through the previous morning, so I knew before I set out that the valley was going to be worth whatever the day cost me. It was. The day cost plenty. Stand below that and you will know exactly how small we are.
